Sungmi is an attending student at Winchester University. She is a minor character in the original indie film Dear White People, portrayed by Naomi Ko.

Dear Black People[]

Sungmi attended a meeting of the Black Student Union one night, in which she heard the announcement from Reggie that they were to dismiss back to their dorms due to Sam's absence. When Lionel proclaimed that the Garmin House was hosting a blackface party, she commented that there were other student unions taht were willing to join the BSU in intervening the Dear Black People party.[1]
