Douglas Hancock is an alumni at Winchester University, the financial contributor to the university and student-run newspaper The Independent, and the husband to Eva. He is a minor character in the Netflix series Dear White People.

Douglas Hancock attended Winchester University; during his time there, he sought interest in student journalism. During this period, he photographed the dormitory residents of the all-Black Armstrong-Parker House and, later, published a piece in the Independent.[1]
Donation and Integration of Armstrong-Parker[]
Years after graduating the university, Hancock attended a gathering in which he conversed with Dean Fairbanks and President Fletcher about his contribution to the institution.[2][3]
